Designers try to design a series of products without any extra complex production or additional materials; At the same time, they also need to deal with the problems. For example, the size and amount of the recycled material- hangers are not consistent. Designers come up with a solution and design a series of household goods – Hanger Collection. It stacks up in different ways which are simple, elegant, and unique. Hanger Colletion —是利用展覽會中被棄置的衣架組合成的一系列家品。不過這些家品的特別之處在於利用其可重複堆疊的特質， 將那些衣架重新分類組裝不同尺吋的環，再按照環的特性成設計不同種類的家品。 the project’s starting point; the designers gave a unique three-dimensionality to the material by cutting it into small pieces and combining them together to create interesting volumes of light and texture. The designers focused their efforts by creating each light shade individually and specifically for each stand, selecting the right banners, sorting out matching colors and sewing each patch by hand to build the perfect irregular shape. As the banners are printed in one side only, the lamps appear to be white and pale when switch off, but the plain appearance radically changes once the lamps are lighted on the colors emerge from the inside. For example, we have seen loose wires at scrap metal shops, which have been stripped of their cooper wires, leaving the plastic outer shell as waste. In order to find a solution to this problem, we looked at the concept of zero waste, and designed a series of recycled crown seating stools from wasted plastic outer shells and recycled fan covers. (一) 凳面內框：風扇 來自聖雅各福群會的電器回收中心，有很多壞掉的舊風扇。風扇罩拆下來，剛好是圓形的凳面結構。 1) Crown stool seat: fans covers The fan covers come from the St James Settlement recycle centre. We took apart the broken fans and used the covers for the seat area. (二) 凳面織料：電線 二次廢棄的電線膠，剛好是一條條的樣子，可以成為織製的線料。風扇罩原本不夠堅硬，電線織密後就結實得多，天衣無縫的配搭。 2) Seat material: electric wires Throw away electric wires are used like threads, wrapping the fan covers for comfort and stability. (三) 凳腳：包裝木箱 運輸業普遍使用的包裝木箱，切割成高凳的框架，成為堅固的底部。 3) Stool legs: wooden crates The stool legs are made from salvaged wood from abandoned freight crates. (四) 工藝：織造法 除了實物的回收，更容易被人忽略的是工藝的荒廢，以前家居曾經有很多人手織造的家具，是民間的文化創意，這次藉著物料的獨特結構，帶出手織的圖案紋理，令每張凳都有其個性。 4) Craftsmanship: stitching In addition to promoting the idea of recycling, we also wanted to raise attention to the importance of craftsmanship. Countless eggshells are being discarded in food production. In regard to this enormous waste, we found opportunity to create a simple and fun candle. First the stuffs clean the emptied eggshells, then they carefully make a hole on the eggshell and pour the heating wax into an eggshell. When the wax is cool down, Eggy Candle is ready. Eggy Candle is a candle with eggshell outside. Its special shape can also be floating in the water. People can adjust the outlook of the shell to create your own style. By far, the largest quantity of waste is generated at the cutting step. The cutting rate for leather can range 25-60%. With some high quality items, only 40% of the surface of the leather is used. 完美的失敗 Flawless failure Success deserves happiness, but that doesn't mean failure equates to sadness. We hope that our participants are willing to try. Even in the face of failure, one can find a special kind of happiness in the experience. Therefore, we specifically designed a race track with a 0.1% success rate. Participants can put any objects, with differing weights, into the cart to compete on our race track. The settings will only allow the cart with a specific weight to pass through. If it's too light or too heavy, the cart will fly out of the track or collapse in collision. However, as the economy took off and now that society has been transformed, few would link Hong Kong to fishery. Even though fishery was once an extremely important industry in Hong Kong, the government did not recognize its importance, not to mention its cultural preservation. As a result, it is not that easy for citizens to learn about the culture of fishermen. For this exhibition, we have used recycled wood in creating the artworks, and with the help of Ma Chi Hang (Director of "Ballad on the Shore"), we have gathered some special fisherman's songs to share with you. Imitating the making of traditional wurst, KaCaMa mixes well soil and leftovers to produce fertilizers in a sausage-shape. Trying to answer this question, we have designed a series of colorful geometrical shaped furniture that are placed around Mody Road Garden for people to interact with and organise events around. These new objects will also be the centerpiece of a campaign that involves a slew of workshops and events to raise public awareness on sustainable living as well as arts and culture. It is not only surrounded by diverse natural scenery, but also located near the HK University, combining history and culture into a rich learning environment. Using the above characteristics, the design team aims to enhance the natural scenery and incorporate environmental-friendly elements. Furthermore, in hopes of highlighting the historical and cultural features, integrating the old and new to outline the core emotion. Reduce the size of the service counter to increase the amount of hidden books, creating a comfortable reading space. Hawkerama II @detour 2012 Candles have a way of bringing people closer together, to share in not just the light, but in the kind of magic and warmth they represent. However, for the past few years, this tradition of lighting candles is no longer continued in Hong Kong due to safety and littering concerns from the Government. Sadly, this has caused a significant decline in the sense of community and power these events and gatherings held for locals. Taking an eggshell as a wax container, we teach people make a special and eco friendly eggy candle to avoid the littering problems. Hopefully, this could revive the tradition of lighting candle in the community and magic bringing people closer together. Other than rubbish end up in bins, these papers could also be seen as visual and text records of our community. Readers are able to learn many interesting happenings and information of the community from these flyers. The artist group KaCaMa Design Lab will collect flyers on the streets, tell the story and guide participants to make their own notebooks from these papers in the workshop, aiming to offer another perspective to understand our community. The activity will be held at T · PARK in Tuen Mun, Hong Kong's first self-sustained sludge treatment facility. There is a wide range of educational and leisure facilities, including a landscaped garden, a roof garden, a wetland habitat for wildlife and spa pools which are all free for public to visit and enjoy. Participants of this activity will join the artist workshop (1 hr), visit to our 'Museum of Art on Wheels' mobile museum (30 mins) and a guided tour of T · PARK (1.5 hrs).
