PS capsule
PS Capsule, a flexible beanbag chair for living room, which made by recycled blended packaging foam. Due to huge amount of usage and immature recycled system in Hong Kong, most of these packaging foam (expanded polystyrene) will be disposed of in strategic landfills and damaging the ecological environment. PS Capsule up-cycling the wasted Styrofoam, through the excellent craftsmanship by local seamstresses, wrapping the wasted Styrofoam in eco-friendly fabrics and transform it into a common furniture in urban home.
Material information:
Approximately, there are 100 tones of expanded polystyrene (Styrofoam) waste disposed of at strategic landfills in Hong Kong daily. Styrofoam take a large volume of space and cannot be degradable. Beside Styrofoam is capable of floating on water, which polluted of the environment and seriously burden on nature.

P.S. Capsule是一款利用打碎的回收包裝發泡膠粒作填充物的新款家具。由於發泡膠使用量大,回收系統不成熟,往往容易被棄置於堆填區,嚴重影響到大自然生態環境。設計團隊希望透過善用這種物料特性,發掘出重用的可能性。配合環保布料,及本地車衣手藝,讓回收的發泡膠, 轉變成易於搬運,容易配襯的特色家具。
物料資料:
每天約有100公噸泡沬聚苯乙烯（俗稱：發泡膠）廢料棄置於香港堆填區。
發泡膠除了體積大，不易降解，更具有浮力，無論對海洋與陸地，都對大自然造成嚴重的負擔。
