Guiding four PolyU product design students, this workshop explores the hidden potential of post-exhibition carpets and recycled tires. By combining the elastic structure of tires with the soft texture of discarded carpets, participants re-engineer these local waste materials into a stylish, versatile bench. The project highlights hands-on upcycling and sustainable design thinking, empowering emerging designers to transform everyday urban waste into functional public seating.
